The Carriage House

AXB was invited to design the Carriage House for the 2025 Pasadena Showcase House. Our intention behind the redesign was to bring a modernity to the home while paying homage to the Estate’s intrinsic character which is steeped in late 1920’s Colonial Grandeur. With nods to historic details of the period, we infused modern materiality through lighting selections, millwork details, vintage inspired wallpaper, plaster details and eclectic furnishings and art selections. The color palate is a cohesive transition from creams and browns in the downstairs areas to taupes and blush colors upstairs. The overall effect achieved is a warm, enveloping, and quiet luxury experience for all guests who tour the home.
